Introducing Broadway Rise's Open Adult Musical Theater Class – the perfect opportunity for performers to sharpen their skills and take their craft to the next level! This weekly class meets every Thursday evening from 7:30–9:00 PM.

In this dynamic 90-minute session, you'll immerse yourself in the world of musical theater, focusing on challenging Broadway repertoire that spans timeless classics to today’s most celebrated hits. Each class begins with a vocal warmup and learning a song from the Broadway canon. You’ll then bring the number to life with choreography and staging that’s designed to push your boundaries, featuring more advanced movement and direction to elevate your performance.

This class is ideal for individuals who want to refine their skills in vocal technique, acting, and dance while exploring nuanced performance choices. Through small group and ensemble rehearsals, you'll build on your stage presence, master intricate material, and connect with fellow theater enthusiasts in a supportive yet driven environment.

Marika Abe

Marika is dedicated to helping performers of all ages build confidence, refine their craft, and unlock their full creative potential.

Marika Abe is a dynamic multi-disciplinary artist whose talents span musical direction, piano, acting, and dance. A true force on and off the stage, Marika has established herself as a sought-after performer and creative collaborator, equally at home leading a score from the piano as she is delivering a captivating performance under the spotlight.

A graduate of Mercy–Mount Manhattan College in New York City, Marika holds a degree in Theatre Performance and Musical Theatre. Her work includes critically acclaimed regional and Off-Broadway productions, most notably The King and I at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre—directed by Tony-nominated Marcia Milgrom Dodge—and The Selfish Giant, based on Oscar Wilde’s classic tale.

In addition to her performance work, Marika has served as dance captain, vocal coach, and assistant music director on a range of productions across the U.S., and has headlined concerts in both New York and Japan. Her concert appearances include performances at Lincoln Center, York Theatre Company, and prominent cultural venues in Yokohama, where she has produced and led her own sold-out musical events.

Marika’s artistry is marked by precision, emotional depth, and a profound commitment to celebrating individuality through music and storytelling. Guided by the belief that “Everybody is beautiful,” she continues to bring joy, connection, and artistic excellence to audiences around the world.

    Registration is essential - SIGN UP NOW

  • Students and should wear comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement.

    Shoes should also be suitable for movement and dancing, such as dance shoes, sneakers or sandals with straps.

    *Specific attire may be required for certain classes, which will be communicated upon enrollment.

  • We understand that absences happen though we encourage our students to attend class as much as possible to avoid missing out on new content, material, etc.

  • Tuition will be pro-rated accordingly for late registration, no late registration after Week 2.
